Henry County, IN – A high-speed chase in Henry County on Friday morning ended with the arrest of an Indianapolis man. Master Trooper Barry Bischoff initiated the pursuit after Kevin DaVante Kemp, 30, failed to stop during a traffic violation on Interstate 70.
According to the Indiana State Police, Kemp’s vehicle fled southbound on State Road 3 before turning east onto US 40. The chase ended when Kemp crashed into a ditch at County Road 700 S. Authorities apprehended him at the scene.
Officers discovered a juvenile male inside the car, who sustained minor injuries. He was not wearing a seatbelt and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Kemp faces charges including felony neglect of a dependent, resisting law enforcement, and criminal recklessness. Police also discovered marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.
The Indiana Department of Child Services and the Henry County Sheriff’s Department assisted in the investigation. Kemp remains in custody, pending further legal action.
