Indianapolis, IN – Detectives with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) have arrested a 22-year-old woman in connection with a deadly shooting that occurred on November 11, 2025, on the city’s southeast side.
According to IMPD, officers responded just after noon to the 3700 block of Fletcher Avenue for a report of a person shot. When they arrived, officers found a 27-year-old man, later identified as Carl Stevenson IV, suffering from gunshot wounds. Medics transported Stevenson to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Police say Jaynia Beans, 22, was located at the scene and detained without incident. After gathering evidence, reviewing video footage, and interviewing witnesses, IMPD Homicide detectives—working in coordination with the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office—arrested Beans on a preliminary charge of murder.
Authorities emphasized that an arrest is an allegation and that the suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
IMPD officials thanked community partners and the City of Indianapolis for supporting public safety technology that helped lead to a swift resolution in the case.
