Indianapolis, Ind. – A stretch of unseasonably warm weather will linger across central Indiana this weekend, with sunny skies and temperatures soaring into the 80s by Sunday. Afternoon highs are expected to run about 10 degrees above late September averages, making it feel more like summer than fall.

According to the National Weather Service in Indianapolis, Friday will bring mostly sunny skies with highs between 77 and 81 degrees. Saturday warms further into the low 80s, with Sunday peaking in the mid-80s. Overnight lows will remain comfortable in the 50s, offering some relief after warm afternoons.

The warm spell will be most noticeable in urban areas like Indianapolis, Bloomington, and Muncie, where pavement can amplify daytime heat. Outdoor events should see favorable weather conditions, though residents are encouraged to stay hydrated and limit strenuous activity during the afternoon.

Farmers and gardeners may also benefit from the extended dry stretch, with no rain expected through Sunday night. However, fire danger could increase in rural areas if dry conditions persist into next week.

Above-normal warmth is set to continue into early next week, with updates expected if temperatures push higher or conditions shift.
