Indianapolis, Indiana – Temperatures will climb into the low 50s along the I-65 corridor by Saturday after a seasonably cool midweek stretch.
According to the National Weather Service in Indianapolis, dry conditions with near-normal late-winter temperatures will continue through Thursday. Breezy conditions today will usher in seasonably cool air before a warming trend begins Friday into Saturday.
Highs Wednesday are forecast between 35 and 45 degrees across central Indiana, followed by 36 to 46 degrees Thursday under dry skies. By Friday, temperatures are expected to rise into the 42 to 51 degree range, with Saturday climbing further into the upper 40s to low 50s.
Drivers along Interstate 65 from Lafayette through Indianapolis to Columbus, Interstate 69 near Muncie, Interstate 70 toward Terre Haute, and State Road 37 near Bloomington can expect mainly dry pavement conditions through the end of the work week.
Shower chances increase Saturday night into Sunday as a weather system approaches the region. Specific rainfall totals are still being refined, but periods of rain could impact weekend travel plans.
Forecasters also note ice jam potential on creeks and rivers this week as temperatures fluctuate near freezing overnight and rise above freezing during the day.
Commuters, weekend travelers, and residents near waterways should monitor forecast updates as conditions evolve.
