Indianapolis, IN – Southwest winds gusting up to 40 mph will boost temperatures to near 40°F across central Indiana Tuesday, marking the region’s warmest day in nearly two weeks, according to the National Weather Service Indianapolis.
Forecasters say the mild pattern will be short-lived as a cold front brings rain showers tonight, followed by a mix of rain and snow Wednesday afternoon. By Wednesday evening, colder air will sweep in behind the front, changing precipitation entirely to light snow showers.
Temperatures will drop sharply midweek, with highs in the 40s Wednesday falling into the 20s and teens by Friday. Wind chills could plunge into the single digits or below zero heading into the weekend.
Occasional snow showers are expected to linger through Saturday, with frigid conditions continuing into early next week.
