Indianapolis, IN – A period of accumulating snow is becoming increasingly likely across central Indiana Friday night through Saturday, raising concerns for post-Thanksgiving travel, according to the National Weather Service in Indianapolis.
Forecasters say the system will bring colder air with lows between 15°F and 25°F, and a potential for at least 2 inches of snow north and west of Crawfordsville by Saturday evening. While exact amounts and timing remain uncertain, the NWS says confidence is growing in a window for light to moderate accumulations.
Rising temperatures later in the event could lead to some mixing with rain, particularly across southeast Indiana, but cold ground conditions may still allow for slick roads and reduced visibility.
Drivers are encouraged to stay updated on forecast developments and prepare for slower travel Friday night into Saturday.
