Indianapolis, IN – A 24-year-old man was arrested Wednesday in connection with a fatal crash that left a 56-year-old victim dead on the city’s southwest side.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD), officers were called at about 11:10 a.m. to the intersection of W. Troy Avenue and Denison Street, where they found Robbie Vidito lying on the roadside with severe injuries. Witnesses were attempting CPR before Vidito was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Investigators from the IMPD Homicide Unit took over the case with support from the Marion County Coroner’s Office and the Marion County Forensic Services Agency. Authorities allege that witness statements and gathered evidence identified Seth McPeak as a suspect.
Police said a community tip led IMPD’s Violent Crimes Unit and Southwest District officers to locate McPeak around 6:15 p.m. in the 2800 block of Collier Street. McPeak was arrested on allegations of murder, robbery causing serious bodily injury, auto theft, and battery with injury.
The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will determine final charges. IMPD emphasized that McPeak, like any person arrested, is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
Authorities have not released additional details about the events leading to the alleged crash and robbery but said the investigation remains ongoing.
