Indianapolis, IN – Four adults were displaced Friday afternoon after an intentionally set fire tore through a two-story home on the city’s north side, according to the Indianapolis Fire Department (IFD).

Fire crews were dispatched around 1:57 p.m. to 2940 N. Delaware Street, where they arrived to find heavy fire and thick black smoke pouring from the second floor of the residence. According to IFD investigators, the blaze was deliberately set inside the home.

An aggressive fire attack brought the flames under control within 15 minutes. Crews reported the fire originated in a second-floor room and extended into the attic before being contained.

No injuries were reported, but all four adults living in the home have been displaced as a result of the damage. Fire investigators are continuing to examine evidence at the scene as the case is being treated as arson.

Anyone with information is urged to contact local authorities or the IFD Fire Investigations unit.
