Indianapolis, IN – Widespread rain and gusty winds are sweeping across central Indiana today as a fall storm system moves through the region, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) Indianapolis.
Showers will taper off from west to east by late afternoon, but gusty winds of 30–40 mph will persist through the evening. Forecasters say temperatures will hover around the upper 50s, with drier but breezy weather settling in to start the work week.
Monday will bring highs near 64°F and a chance of isolated light showers overnight, while Tuesday is expected to remain partly cloudy with wind gusts of 25–35 mph.
The NWS advises residents to secure lightweight outdoor items and exercise caution when driving high-profile vehicles during periods of stronger gusts. Temperatures will trend near seasonal averages through midweek.
