Indiana Woman Faces Drug and Child Neglect Charges After Dollar General Syringe Incident

Boswell, IN – A woman faces multiple felony charges after deputies found syringes and drugs inside her car at Dollar General on Thursday night.

Deputies responded around 7:15 p.m. after a caller reported a woman injecting herself inside a vehicle. With help from the Boswell Town Marshal, officers identified Kendra M. McMahel, 37, and discovered meth, cocaine, and drug paraphernalia in her car and on her person.

Further investigation led deputies to McMahel’s home, where they found four unattended children. Indiana Child Services arrived, took custody of the minors, and assisted in a home search. Authorities seized additional syringes, drugs, and paraphernalia.

McMahel was booked into the Benton County Jail on multiple charges, including meth and cocaine possession, paraphernalia possession, and child neglect. Her bond was set at $2,000.

McMahel remains in custody as the investigation continues.
