Louisville, KY – A significant winter storm will impact southern Indiana and central Kentucky from Monday evening through Wednesday morning, bringing heavy snow, sleet, and freezing rain.

According to the National Weather Service in Louisville, snowfall totals exceeding 4 inches are possible, with a mix of sleet and freezing rain creating hazardous conditions. Cities such as Jasper, Madison, New Albany, and Corydon are expected to experience difficult travel conditions, especially on bridges and overpasses.

The storm is forecast to begin Monday evening, intensify overnight, and continue into Tuesday, with road conditions deteriorating rapidly. Officials warn that Tuesday’s morning and evening commutes could be severely impacted.

The winter storm watch includes portions of south-central Indiana and central Kentucky, affecting Orange, Washington, Scott, Jefferson, Dubois, Crawford, Perry, Harrison, Floyd, and Clark counties in Indiana, along with multiple Kentucky counties, including Jefferson, Fayette, and Franklin.

Residents are urged to prepare for icy roads, potential power outages, and travel delays. Monitor local weather updates and take precautions to stay safe during the storm.
