Indianapolis, IN – A wave of weekend violence in Indianapolis led to three separate shooting investigations, all of which IMPD detectives successfully resolved within 72 hours.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, the first incident occurred Friday, March 21, 2025, just before 4:00 p.m., on the 2900 block of Lafayette Road. Officers found an adult male with gunshot injuries. He was hospitalized in stable condition. Detectives arrested 69-year-old Paulette Smith at the scene, after learning she allegedly shot the man following an argument. Smith faces charges of battery with a deadly weapon.

Later Friday, IMPD Northwest District officers responded to the 2900 block of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street after hearing gunshots. Officers located a female suspect, 29-year-old Raven Willis, allegedly shooting a male multiple times in a nearby parking lot. The victim was transported in critical condition. Detectives said Willis and the man had been arguing prior to the shooting. Willis was arrested for aggravated battery.

On Sunday, March 23, at around 5:00 a.m., officers found a male gunshot victim deceased on a porch in the 300 block of N Arsenal Ave. A suspect, 30-year-old Warren Highbaugh, allegedly admitted to being the shooter and was arrested for murder.
