Indianapolis, IN – A warmer weather pattern is arriving in Central Indiana this week, with gusty winds and sunshine making a welcome return. Temperatures are expected to climb into the 40s on Tuesday, with some areas along the I-70 corridor possibly reaching 50 by midweek.

According to the National Weather Service, southwest winds will be the primary driver of these milder conditions, but gusts could reach up to 32 mph. Tuesday will bring sunny skies and highs near 46 degrees, while Wednesday could see temperatures hit the 50-degree mark in some locations. Drivers along I-70 and I-65 should remain cautious, as wind gusts may impact travel.

The extended forecast shows highs of 51 degrees on Thursday before cooler weather returns on Friday, along with a 70% chance of showers. Nighttime lows will hover around freezing most of the week, so residents should still take precautions against frost.

Now is the time to plan outdoor activities during these mild and sunny days while staying aware of gusty winds.
