Indianapolis, IN – After a frigid week with subzero wind chills, central Indiana will see a warming trend this weekend as an arctic front exits. Temperatures are set to rise steadily, reaching the 40s by Sunday, with mostly sunny skies dominating the forecast.
According to the National Weather Service, Friday will start cold, with a high near 30°F under mostly sunny skies. Overnight lows will dip to around 14°F. By Saturday, temperatures climb to the mid-30s, and Sunday will feel even warmer, with highs near 42°F. Light southwest winds will help push warmer air into the region.
Drivers should remain cautious during the Friday morning commute as untreated roads, bridges, and overpasses may still be slick from lingering ice. By Saturday, road conditions are expected to improve significantly as temperatures rise above freezing.
Looking ahead, the warming trend continues into early next week, with highs potentially reaching the low 50s by Monday. While no major precipitation is expected, occasional gusty winds could develop. Stay updated with local forecasts and prepare for changing conditions as winter loosens its grip.
