Fort Wayne, IN – Strong onshore winds are forecasted to create hazardous rip currents along southeast Lake Michigan on Friday and Saturday. Beachgoers are urged to stay out of the water.
According to the US National Weather Service Northern Indiana, life-threatening waves and currents are expected. Winds will range from 10 to 20 mph with waves reaching heights of 3 to 5 feet. Visitors are advised to steer clear of the pier and avoid swimming in affected areas.
Meanwhile, inland areas of Indiana will enjoy dry and pleasant weather through the weekend. High temperatures are expected to range from 72 to 80 degrees on Friday, cooling slightly to 70 to 77 degrees on Saturday, and remaining mild with highs of 72 to 78 degrees on Sunday. Overnight lows will be in the mid-50s to low 60s, providing cool, comfortable nights.
