Fort Wayne, Indiana – Northern Indiana is in for a sharp weather reversal this week, starting with foggy, damp conditions today and ending with a return to winter chill and snow showers by the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service in Northern Indiana, areas of fog and drizzle will taper off through the morning, with clouds decreasing this afternoon as temperatures climb toward 50 degrees. The warmup accelerates Thursday, when highs surge well into the 50s and possibly near 60 as rain develops later in the day and into the evening.

Friday starts mild but turns sharply cooler as a cold front sweeps through during the afternoon. Rain showers are expected to transition to snow showers as temperatures fall, especially late Friday into Friday night. Gusty winds may add to the raw feel as colder air pours into the region.

By Saturday, scattered snow showers are possible across northern Indiana, including Fort Wayne, South Bend, Warsaw, and Angola. While accumulation appears limited, brief slick spots could develop, especially during early morning and nighttime hours. Sunday remains cold and breezy, with additional snow showers possible and wind chills dropping into the 20s.

Drivers should remain alert for changing road conditions late Friday into the weekend. Additional advisories may be issued as the colder pattern locks in, with winterlike conditions expected to persist into early next week.
