Indianapolis, IN – Warmer weather is on the way for Indiana, but rain could disrupt midweek plans as temperatures fluctuate. After a cool start, Tuesday will bring sunny skies and highs in the mid-50s before rain moves in Wednesday.

According to the National Weather Service, Tuesday’s forecast calls for mostly sunny conditions and a high of 56°F in Indianapolis. Winds will be light, coming from the west-southwest at 3 to 6 mph. However, by Wednesday afternoon, there’s a 50% chance of rain, with gusty winds up to 20 mph. Rain is expected to continue into Wednesday night, with a 60% chance of showers before 1 a.m.

By Thursday, temperatures will drop, with highs struggling to reach 47°F under mostly cloudy skies. A slight chance of rain lingers in the forecast, and northwest winds will pick up between 7 to 10 mph. Nighttime lows will fall to around 31°F.

The weekend outlook is brighter, with mostly sunny conditions Friday through Sunday. Highs will hover in the mid-40s, and overnight lows will range from the upper 20s to mid-30s.

Drivers should prepare for changing road conditions midweek, especially on highways like I-70 and I-465, where wet roads could impact travel. Keep an eye on forecasts and plan ahead for shifting weather patterns.
