Indiana drivers are spotting light flakes drifting past streetlights this morning, with damp pavement turning patchy white in spots around Indianapolis. Temperatures hover near 34 degrees, and a north breeze pushes wind chills into the upper 20s. Bridges along I-65 and I-70 could turn slick in bursts of steadier snow.

According to the National Weather Service in Indianapolis, up to a half inch of snow is possible through midday. Snow showers taper later this afternoon as skies gradually brighten. Highs reach near 49 degrees, helping melt much of what falls.

Even so, watch for isolated slick spots early. This is prime flash-freeze season. Melting snow can refreeze on untreated overpasses after sunset as temperatures slide toward 32 degrees tonight.

A dramatic swing follows. Sunshine dominates Friday with highs near 60 degrees. Roads dry out, and the air feels more like late March than late February. Saturday stays mostly sunny with highs in the mid-50s, ideal for outdoor plans.

Changes return Saturday night. Rain develops before 10 p.m., then may mix with or change to snow toward early Sunday. Sunday remains mostly cloudy with highs near 38 degrees. Snow becomes more likely Sunday night as temperatures drop to around 23 degrees. Plan extra travel time if heading out late weekend.

Early next week stays unsettled with periodic rain chances into midweek. The 6–10 day outlook signals above-normal temperatures returning, hinting at a broader March warmup after this late-winter swing.
