According to the National Weather Service, storms are expected to develop late Friday with the highest chances for rain and thunder between 8 p.m. and midnight. South and southwest winds will build throughout the day, increasing to 15 mph with gusts up to 25–30 mph. U.S. Route 27 and surrounding arterials may become slick or briefly flooded in heavy downpours.
Saturday brings relief, with partly sunny skies and a cooler high of 66°F. Breezy west winds will remain, gusting near 30 mph through the afternoon. Sunshine returns fully Sunday, delivering a springlike day near 71°F before a colder night settles in with lows dipping into the upper 40s.
