Fort Wayne, IN – Light snow will overspread northern Indiana tonight, with accumulations expected to impact Friday morning commutes. Drivers along US 30 and other major routes should plan for potential slick conditions and reduced visibility.

According to the National Weather Service, snow will move west to east late this evening, continuing through Friday morning before tapering off. Accumulations of 1 to 2 inches are forecasted, with the heaviest snowfall anticipated north of US 30. Elevated surfaces like bridges and overpasses are especially prone to freezing, heightening risks for accidents.

Friday morning’s commute may be hazardous, especially for early travelers. Residents are urged to allow extra travel time and check updated road conditions. Winds gusting up to 20 mph could reduce visibility further in some areas.

After snow diminishes Friday afternoon, temperatures will remain near freezing, with highs around 35°F. Saturday is expected to bring clearer skies and colder conditions, with highs near 29°F and overnight lows dropping to 14°F.

The five-day forecast includes a mostly sunny Sunday with highs near 28°F, while rain and snow chances return Monday. Travelers are encouraged to stay updated on changing forecasts as holiday plans approach.
