Fort Wayne residents may dodge a few showers tonight before clear skies and cooler air settle across northern Indiana through the week. The National Weather Service says isolated thunderstorms remain possible into late Saturday evening, but widespread severe weather is not expected.

According to the National Weather Service in Northern Indiana, the best chance for showers will come before 11 p.m., with winds shifting from the west at 5 mph. Motorists along I-69 and U.S. 30 could encounter slick spots during brief downpours but should see improving conditions after midnight. Spotter activation is not anticipated.

Sunday brings a shift toward calmer weather. Sunshine will dominate, with highs near 76 degrees. Winds pick up slightly out of the west at 10 mph but pose no hazard. Cooler overnight temperatures around 53 degrees may make for comfortable open-window sleeping conditions across Allen and surrounding counties.

By Monday, northern Indiana holds only a 20 percent chance of showers before skies turn partly cloudy. Highs fall near 70, a noticeable cool down from Saturday’s warmth. Sunshine continues Tuesday and Wednesday, with highs in the low to mid-70s and crisp mornings dipping into the upper 40s.

Residents are encouraged to enjoy the stretch of dry, pleasant weather but stay updated as conditions may shift toward late week. The National Weather Service will issue new advisories if storm chances return.
