According to the National Weather Service in Indianapolis, temperatures will climb into the upper 80s by Tuesday, with heat and humidity building ahead of a storm system expected to move through the region. A 50% chance of showers begins Wednesday afternoon, increasing to 70% by Wednesday night and reaching 80% by Thursday morning.

Showers and thunderstorms may impact travel during the Wednesday evening and Thursday morning commute, especially along I-70 and I-65 corridors. Wind gusts could reach 24 mph Wednesday afternoon. South winds will persist through Thursday as the system tracks eastward. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible with heavier downpours.
