Fort Wayne, IN – Residents in northern Indiana should prepare for an active weather pattern this week, with multiple rounds of thunderstorms expected to move through the region starting Tuesday and continuing into Wednesday night. The most significant activity is anticipated on Wednesday when showers and thunderstorms are likely, especially after 2 p.m. Some of these storms could be severe, and new rainfall amounts may reach between a quarter and half an inch. Residents in Allen, Elkhart, and surrounding counties should have multiple ways to receive weather alerts and be prepared to move indoors if threatening weather approaches.

For the Juneteenth holiday on Thursday, a lingering 30 percent chance of showers remains, mainly before 8 a.m. The day will otherwise be mostly cloudy with a high near 80 degrees, allowing for some outdoor activities later in the day.
