Indianapolis, Indiana – Scattered showers and cool air are keeping Indiana soggy and gray Monday, with temperatures barely reaching the mid-60s across much of the state.
According to the National Weather Service in Indianapolis, lingering rain will continue through tonight with a 50% chance of precipitation and lows dipping into the upper 40s. Conditions will gradually improve Tuesday as showers taper off in northeastern Indiana, followed by clearer skies and a warming trend by midweek.
Cities including Bloomington, Lafayette, and Muncie are likely to stay damp through the evening commute, with cloudy skies persisting overnight. Roadways may remain slick into Tuesday morning, especially in northern and eastern counties like Fort Wayne and Richmond, where light rain may linger longer.
Residents are advised to limit non-essential travel during the heaviest rainfall and keep an umbrella or light jacket handy. While no flooding is expected, patchy wet roads could impact early commutes.
By Wednesday, highs are expected to climb into the low to mid-70s across Indianapolis, Evansville, and Terre Haute under mostly cloudy skies. Mild, dry conditions are expected to hold through late week, with only a slight chance of isolated showers south of U.S. 50 on Thursday.
Further updates will be issued if additional rain develops overnight.
