Fort Wayne, Ind. – Scattered showers and a few thunderstorms could disrupt commutes and outdoor plans across northern Indiana through Wednesday, with the highest rain chances expected Tuesday night into midday Wednesday.
According to the National Weather Service in Northern Indiana, a 20–40% chance of showers will develop late Monday, especially south of U.S. Route 24. Temperatures will remain unseasonably warm, ranging from 76 to 81 degrees through midweek.
Tuesday brings a 20–70% chance of rain, with localized downpours more likely late in the day. Wednesday sees a 30–70% risk, peaking around midday as atmospheric moisture increases. Cities including Fort Wayne, Wabash, and Logansport could experience brief thunderstorms and gusty winds.
Motorists along US 24 and I-69 should watch for slick roads and reduced visibility during heavier rainfall. Residents are advised to delay yard work, secure outdoor items, and monitor for weather alerts, especially Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning.
Though no major flooding is expected, isolated street ponding may occur. Rain chances begin to taper late Wednesday, but unsettled skies may linger into Thursday morning.
