Fort Wayne, Ind. – Drivers in northern Indiana may face slower travel this morning as patchy fog lingers across portions of I-69 and surrounding highways before burning off by midmorning. Reduced visibility will remain the primary concern early, but residents should prepare for a more comfortable stretch of fall weather as October begins midweek.

According to the National Weather Service, Monday brings sunshine after fog clears, with highs near 86 degrees before dipping to the mid-50s tonight. Conditions stay calm, though motorists should use low beams in fog and allow extra travel time on rural routes.

Tuesday remains warm and sunny with a high near 83, but changes arrive by Wednesday as cooler air filters in from the east. Highs will level out in the upper 70s midweek, paired with crisp overnight lows falling into the upper 40s. Skies stay mostly sunny, keeping roads dry and safe for travel through early October.

The stretch of mild, pleasant weather means opportunities for outdoor events, yard work, and fall sports without the threat of storms. Still, residents should stay alert for dense fog patches during early morning commutes on Tuesday and Wednesday, especially across low-lying rural areas.

By Thursday and Friday, temperatures rebound slightly into the lower 80s with partly sunny skies, ideal for outdoor activities as the weekend approaches.

Warnings and advisories remain minimal, but forecasters note fog may return on select mornings through midweek.
