Indianapolis, Indiana – Scattered thunderstorms could disrupt plans across Indiana this weekend, with strong storms possible Friday night and more rain likely by Sunday afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service in Indianapolis, scattered showers and storms will continue overnight with a 40% chance of rain and lows near 71°F. On Saturday, activity will shift mainly to southern Indiana, where there’s a 30% chance of storms and a high of 88°F. Conditions remain humid statewide.

By Sunday, showers and thunderstorms are expected to return across central Indiana, with a 60% chance of rain and highs around 87°F. Cities like Bloomington, Columbus, and Terre Haute may see heavier downpours, while roadways such as I-65 and I-70 could experience periods of reduced visibility and standing water.

Residents are advised to avoid outdoor plans during peak storm hours, secure outdoor items, and monitor local alerts. Lightning and localized flooding remain possible in heavier storms.

Storm chances will diminish slightly into early next week, but the weekend threat continues with warm, muggy conditions lingering. More advisories may be issued if storms intensify.
