The National Weather Service in Indianapolis predicts a high of 69°F today under partly sunny skies, with mild conditions continuing over the next few days.

According to the National Weather Service, temperatures will trend cooler as the week progresses, dropping to a high near 59°F on Thursday and 61°F on Friday. Residents should prepare for evening lows in the 40s, with Thursday night bringing a low around 38°F and Friday dipping to 39°F. With little wind to contend with, these conditions are ideal for outdoor plans during the latter half of the workweek.

However, this dry spell will break by the weekend. Saturday’s forecast includes a 30 percent chance of showers in the afternoon, increasing to an 80 percent chance overnight. Rain is expected to linger through Sunday, with potential thunderstorms that could disrupt travel and outdoor events. Motorists on I-465 and surrounding routes should remain alert for slick roads by late Saturday.

Looking into next week, Veterans Day is expected to bring mostly sunny skies with a high of 60°F, providing a clear day for any planned commemorative events. Cooler temperatures will return Monday, with a high near 57°F.
