Indianapolis, IN – Rain will blanket central Indiana through Monday, bringing gusty winds and a chance for isolated thunderstorms, especially in southern parts of the state.

According to the US National Weather Service Indianapolis, rain began Sunday and is expected to continue into Monday evening. Isolated thunderstorms may develop this afternoon, though severe weather is not anticipated. Winds will be a concern, with sustained breezes around 35 mph and occasional gusts reaching up to 40 mph.

High temperatures on Sunday are forecast to reach the upper 40s to mid-50s across central Indiana. Monday will see slightly warmer conditions with highs ranging from 50 to 60 degrees. Overnight lows will dip to the mid-30s Sunday night and the low 40s by Monday night. Rain chances taper off Tuesday as conditions begin to dry out.

Residents should secure loose outdoor items and use caution while driving, especially on elevated roadways where wind gusts may affect vehicle control. Rain could lead to reduced visibility and minor ponding on roads.
