Indiana Vehicle Fire Destroys Jeep on State Road 62 Sunday Night

Friendship, IN – Firefighters responded late Sunday night after a Jeep Wrangler caught fire along State Road 62, leaving the vehicle a total loss.

According to the Friendship Volunteer Fire Department, crews were dispatched at 9:37 p.m. to the 5000 block of State Road 62 after reports of flames coming from the Jeep. Firefighters said the blaze was visible from both the passenger compartment and under the hood when they arrived.

Units 71, 77 and 78 responded with 11 members on scene. Firefighters reported the blaze was quickly brought under control at 9:54 p.m. No injuries were reported in the incident.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Photos shared by the department show the Jeep heavily damaged, with its interior and exterior charred. Fire officials confirmed the vehicle is considered a complete loss.

Crews reminded residents to stay alert and exercise caution, especially when driving at night. “Be safe out there,” the department said in its statement.
