LaPorte County, IN – Indiana State Police arrested two individuals following a high-speed chase on I-94 and U.S. 20 early Saturday morning.
At approximately 1:30 a.m., Trooper Nicholas Isajczuk reportedly observed a gray Toyota SUV traveling over 110 mph without headlights or tail lights on I-94 near the Porter/LaPorte County line.
According to state police, the pursuit continued onto U.S. 421 and then west on U.S. 20, finally stopping at the Pilot Truck Stop in Porter.
The driver, identified as Mohamed A. Ahamed Ahrar, 26, of Mechanicsburg, PA, was taken into custody and charged with multiple offenses, including criminal confinement and operating while intoxicated. He allegedly failed a chemical test with a BAC of .09%. His passenger, Joshua C. Reed, 32, of Chicago, IL, was allegedly found with ketamine and charged with possession of a controlled substance.
Both suspects are being held at LaPorte County Jail. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
