Porter County, IN – A Chicago woman faces multiple charges after allegedly threatening and biting an Indiana State Trooper during a high-speed traffic stop. The incident occurred on Saturday, June 29, at approximately 6:40 p.m. on I-94 eastbound near a truck weigh station.
According to the Indiana State Police, Troopers observed a silver Hyundai with Illinois registration approaching his patrol car at a high rate of speed. The vehicle, driven by 22-year-old Shelby E. Foster of Chicago, was clocked at 105 mph in a 70 mph zone.
During the traffic stop investigation, Foster allegedly became aggressive, insisting that a relative who is a Chicago police officer, later reportedly threatening the trooper. While locating her identification, Troopers later discovered two fake Illinois ID cards. Despite being handcuffed, Foster made several attempts to remove the restraints and continued to resist arrest.
According to police, Foster allegedly bit a Troopers right arm while being transported to the Porter County Jail, where she reportedly continued her aggressive behavior and refused a chemical intoxication test.
Foster faces charges including battery by bodily waste, intimidation, battery against a public safety official, resisting law enforcement, reckless driving, and possession of false identification.
