LaPorte County, IN – Overnight lane closures are set to begin on I-94 starting April 16 as part of ongoing construction work between U.S. 421 and U.S. 20/35. The closures, which will occur between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. each night, are part of the first phase of work on I-94, which is expected to last through mid-December 2025.

According to the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT), once the phase is set up, two lanes of traffic will be maintained, with the work zone positioned on the right side of the highway in both directions. This construction work involves concrete patching and a bridge deck replacement on Norris Ditch, just west of County Road 400 North. During this period, I-94 will be reduced to two lanes.

Additional work will take place throughout the year, which includes bridge deck replacement at Bleck Road in 2026. Drivers are advised to expect further restrictions as the project progresses. Motorists are urged to plan for delays and use caution in the work zone.
