Indianapolis, IN – Commuters traveling along the west side of Interstate 465 in Indianapolis can expect nightly lane closures starting tonight as part of a scheduled concrete restoration project.

According to the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT), the closures will begin Wednesday and continue in phases through Saturday, May 11, weather permitting. Work will take place between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. nightly, with INDOT advising drivers to use caution and plan for delays in the work zones.

The first phase, from Wednesday through Saturday, April 27, will involve the closure of the right lane on southbound I-465 between 10th Street and I-70 — approximately a two-mile stretch.

From Sunday, April 28 through Saturday, May 4, INDOT will shift closures to northbound I-465, with two to three lanes closed from I-70 to 38th Street during overnight hours.

The final phase is scheduled for Sunday, May 5 through Saturday, May 11. During this time, two right lanes will be closed on northbound I-465, again between I-70 and 38th Street, covering roughly two miles.

These repairs are part of ongoing efforts to maintain road safety and surface integrity throughout the region. Drivers are encouraged to monitor official INDOT channels for updates and potential schedule adjustments due to weather conditions.

Motorists should seek alternate routes where possible to avoid delays and ensure the safety of construction crews and fellow travelers.
