Terre Haute, IN – A tornado watch remains in effect for 15 counties across Indiana until 4 a.m. Saturday as severe weather moves through the region. The National Weather Service issued the alert early Saturday, warning of potential tornadoes, damaging winds, and large hail.
According to the National Weather Service in Indianapolis, the affected counties include Vigo, Tippecanoe, Montgomery, Daviess, and Sullivan, among others. Cities under the watch include Terre Haute, Lafayette, Crawfordsville, and Vincennes. Residents are urged to stay alert and have a plan in place in case warnings are issued.
Meteorologists advise residents to monitor weather updates and seek shelter immediately if a tornado warning is issued. Those in mobile homes or poorly constructed buildings should consider moving to a safer location.
Storm activity is expected to move eastward overnight, with conditions improving by early Saturday morning. However, strong winds and scattered thunderstorms may persist into the day.
