Rockport, IN – An Indiana teen faces charges after a high-speed chase and kidnapping in Wyoming. Ethan Cundiff, 18, from Rockport, Indiana, was arrested Thursday morning following a pursuit on I-25.
Cheyenne Police officers responded after receiving a report of a runaway juvenile from Westminster, Colorado. Cundiff, who reportedly met the teen online, was seen in a vehicle near the 5700 block of Education Drive. When officers approached the vehicle, Cundiff fled, leading police on a high-speed pursuit. According to the Cheyenne Police Department, the chase spanned several miles, with Cundiff swerving across lanes.
Wyoming Highway Patrol Troopers deployed spike strips, successfully stopping the vehicle. Cundiff was arrested and booked into the Laramie County Jail on charges of kidnapping, reckless driving, and fleeing. Officers also discovered an outstanding Indiana warrant.
The juvenile involved was found safe and has been reunited with her family.
