Crown Point, IN – Indiana law enforcement agencies have launched a thorough investigation into a tragic incident that claimed the lives of 17 canines enroute to a Michigan training facility.
The incident, which occurred in Lake Station, Indiana, on July 27, 2023, was open in response to mounting concerns, Lake County Prosecutor Bernard Carter spearheaded the initiative to involve the Indiana State Police (ISP) in the investigation.
The heartbreaking discovery unfolded when the lifeless bodies of 17 K9s were found within a box truck. The truck had been transporting the canines from Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport to a specialized training center in Michigan.
