A woman from Peru, Indiana, died in a two-vehicle crash on US 31 at Southway 31 on Tuesday night. Indiana State Police, Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, and Rochester Police responded to the scene just before 8 p.m.

According to Indiana State Police, a silver Ford Escape driven by Cameron Green, 25, of Coldwater, Michigan, was traveling south in the passing lane. A red Nissan Kicks, driven by Tina Adkins, 55, of Peru, was stopped in the same lane for unknown reasons. The Ford struck the Nissan’s passenger side, sending both vehicles off the road.

Emergency crews found Adkins unresponsive and pronounced her dead at the scene. Green sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Woodlawn Hospital.

Investigators do not suspect alcohol or drugs as factors in the crash. Authorities have notified Adkins’ family.

Trooper Adrianna Ward led the investigation with assistance from the Indiana State Police Reconstruction Team, local law enforcement, and emergency responders. The investigation remains active.
