Fort Wayne, Indiana – Showers will return to northeast Indiana on Tuesday, signaling a wet start to the week for drivers and residents along US-27 and I-69. Prepare for changing road conditions and slowdowns, as multiple rounds of rain and gusty winds move in by late morning Tuesday and linger through Friday.

According to the National Weather Service, Tuesday will bring showers with a possible thunderstorm after 11 a.m. Winds from the southwest could gust up to 35 mph, making travel on major routes like US-30 and I-69 slick and unpredictable. The heaviest rainfall is expected Tuesday evening, with new precipitation between a tenth and a quarter of an inch, especially during thunderstorms. City and county emergency management teams urge drivers to allow extra time, reduce speed, and turn on headlights during downpours.

By Wednesday, rain remains likely, and another round of storms is possible after 11 p.m. Thunderstorms may disrupt outdoor plans, with rain chances staying high at 70%. Thursday brings additional showers and isolated thunderstorms, with a 90% chance of rain expected to continue affecting commutes and outdoor activities across Allen County and beyond.

Looking further ahead, Friday offers little relief, with more showers and a possible thunderstorm, before partly cloudy skies and cooler temperatures finally arrive by Friday night and into the weekend.

Keep your devices charged, review your severe weather plans, and stay tuned for further advisories as warnings remain in effect throughout the week. More updates will follow as the situation develops, especially if new watches or warnings are issued.
