La Porte, IN – A man was hospitalized and later airlifted for advanced treatment following an overnight shooting inside a residence in rural La Porte County, Indiana. Authorities say there is no ongoing public safety threat and the matter appears to be an isolated incident.
According to the La Porte County Sheriff’s Office, detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division responded to a call late Tuesday night at a home in the 10600 south block of CR 1150 West. The male subject was initially transported by ground to a local hospital before being transferred via air ambulance to a trauma center for further care.
Officials reportedly emphasized that the investigation remains ongoing, and that no further information has been released at this time. Law enforcement reiterated that the situation does not pose a danger to the public and urged residents that there is no need for concern regarding community safety.
Details surrounding what allegedly led to the shooting or the identities of those involved have not been made public. Authorities have not indicated if any suspects have been identified or taken into custody in connection with the incident.
