Bowling Green, Ky. – Tornado watches remain in effect across parts of Kentucky and Indiana Tuesday evening as dangerous storms sweep across the region, bringing a heightened risk of rotation, hail, and damaging winds.
According to the National Weather Service offices in Louisville and Indianapolis, Tornado Watch 305 is active for 18 counties in central and south-central Kentucky until 10 p.m. CDT. This includes major population centers such as Bowling Green, Glasgow, and Franklin. Meanwhile, Tornado Watch 304 remains in place for seven counties in west-central Indiana, including Lafayette and Terre Haute, until 9 p.m. EDT.
In Kentucky, residents from Warren to Hart counties should stay alert as storm cells capable of producing tornadoes move eastward. Edmonson, Logan, and Monroe counties are also under the watch. In Indiana, Tippecanoe and Vermillion counties are among those facing the threat. Strong wind gusts and isolated large hail could accompany these storms.
If you live in the affected areas, charge your phones, review your tornado safety plan, and prepare to shelter quickly. Avoid travel on I-65, I-165, and US 231 during peak storm activity.
