Indiana: Semi-Truck Fire Shuts Down I-65 Early Tuesday

Lafayette, IN – I-65 is currently shut down in both directions at the 156-mile marker following a semi-truck fire early Tuesday morning, causing significant traffic disruptions.

According to the Indiana State Police-Lafayette District, the fire occurred just after 2 a.m. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported. Authorities have diverted northbound traffic at State Road 47, while southbound traffic is being redirected at State Road 28. The fire has been extinguished, but cleanup and safety assessments are ongoing, which are expected to keep the interstate closed for several more hours.
