Indianapolis, IN – Dense fog and freezing temperatures are creating hazardous driving conditions across central Indiana this morning. The National Weather Service has issued a Dense Fog Advisory until 9 a.m., with visibility reduced to a quarter-mile or less in some areas.
According to the National Weather Service, dense fog is expected to clear by mid-morning, but wintry precipitation is possible Friday night into Saturday. Rain is expected Saturday morning, shifting to a rain/snow mix by Saturday night, with temperatures dropping into the upper 20s.
Drivers on I-65, I-70, and I-69 should remain cautious, especially in low-lying areas where fog tends to linger. Officials advise using headlights, reducing speed, and keeping extra distance between vehicles.
Looking ahead, temperatures will hover in the upper 30s and 40s through early next week, with another chance of snow Monday into Tuesday.
