Monrovia, IN — Drivers in western Morgan County should prepare for travel disruptions along State Road 42 beginning on or after April 10, as roadwork begins between Crown Center and Little Point.
According to the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT), several short-term closures are planned on S.R. 42 between Simpson Road and County Road 1100 W. The work involves patching, resurfacing, and updating structures along the stretch. The project is expected to continue through mid-July but could extend depending on weather conditions.
Motorists will be detoured via S.R. 42 to S.R. 39, then to S.R. 142 before reconnecting with S.R. 42. INDOT advises drivers to use caution and seek alternate routes during the project.
Although the closures are short-term and staggered, they may still affect daily commutes and local traffic patterns. The area lies just west of Monrovia, with nearby access to I-70. This work is part of ongoing statewide infrastructure improvements targeting rural connectors and high-traffic corridors.
Residents and commercial drivers should monitor local advisories and adjust travel plans. For real-time updates, visit INDOT’s website or follow West Central INDOT on social media.
