Garrett, IN – A welfare check for an unconscious woman in Garrett on Saturday evening allegedly led to the discovery of multiple drugs and the arrest of the homeowner, authorities said.

According to the Indiana State Police Fort Wayne Post, troopers responded to a home in the 6800 block of County Road 7A shortly after 7 p.m. Saturday. Upon arrival, officers reportedly saw the woman unconscious and noticed suspected drug paraphernalia in plain view. She was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment.

Troopers, along with the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department, said they obtained a search warrant and searched the residence. Authorities reported finding suspected methamphetamine, cocaine and marijuana during the investigation.

The DeKalb County Prosecutor’s Office has filed charges against the homeowner, identified as Todd Thrush, 47, of Garrett. Thrush faces multiple counts, including alleged possession of methamphetamine, cocaine and a legend drug or precursor, all Level 6 felonies; maintaining a common nuisance, also a Level 6 felony; possession of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor; and possession of paraphernalia, a Class C misdemeanor.

Indiana State Police said Parkview EMS also assisted at the scene.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
