Chicago, IL – A Chicago man accused of killing a woman and abducting an 8-year-old boy was arrested in Indiana after a police chase.
According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Department, officers spotted the suspect’s vehicle in Merrillville around 9:40 a.m. Saturday. Law enforcement tracked the silver Ford Escape using license plate readers, confirming it matched an Amber Alert issued for the missing boy.
Indiana State Police and local agencies pursued the suspect south on I-65. Officers boxed in the vehicle, forcing it to stop. The suspect, identified as Marcus Bausley, initially refused to exit and held a knife to his neck. Officers took him into custody and transported him to a hospital for evaluation.
