Angola, IN – An Indiana pair faces charges after allegedly attempting to drown a police canine during a foot chase in Steuben County.

Authorities responded to a trespassing report in Scott Township on Monday, which escalated when suspects Skyler Robertson and Hollie Richter fled into nearby woods. During the pursuit, Robertson reportedly tried to submerge K-9 Klara in a creek, police said. Klara survived the incident and is recovering.

Robertson is charged with resisting law enforcement and interfering with a law enforcement animal, while Richter faces a charge of resisting law enforcement. Both were wanted on prior offenses and are now detained at Steuben County Jail.
