Fort Wayne, IN – Residents across northern Indiana and northwest Ohio should prepare for more unsettled weather as showers and embedded thunderstorms move into the region today, according to the US National Weather Service Northern Indiana.
Forecasters report the greatest storm coverage will occur along and east of Interstate 69 through this afternoon, with the highest probabilities south of US 24. A few storms could bring gusty winds, particularly in northwest Ohio.
According to the weather service, rain chances today range from 20–65% north of US 24 and 60–90% south of the highway. Tonight’s outlook keeps rain probabilities between 20–70%, with overnight lows holding in the low 60s.
The unsettled pattern is expected to continue Tuesday and Wednesday, with additional showers and storms in the forecast. Highs will only reach the low 70s midweek, influenced by cloud cover and increased rainfall chances. Tuesday may see a brief bump into the upper 70s before temperatures dip again.
Travelers and commuters should plan for possible delays due to reduced visibility and slick roadways. Residents are encouraged to monitor local forecasts and weather alerts for updates as the storm system moves through the area.
