Westfield, IN – A local Westfield business is under investigation after authorities uncovered an alleged scheme involving counterfeit sports autographs sold through online platforms, resulting in a multi-agency law enforcement response this week.

According to the Westfield Police Department, the investigation began in February when a North Carolina woman reported receiving fraudulent autographed memorabilia purchased from Mister Mancave LLC, a Westfield-based business. As the case developed, additional victims came forward, all claiming they had bought counterfeit sports memorabilia through the company’s online store and other websites.

On Tuesday, police executed a search warrant at Mister Mancave’s business location. The next day, Wednesday, the investigation led officers to a residence in the 300 block of Hoover Street, where Brett Lemieux, 45, of Westfield—identified as the owner of Mister Mancave LLC and the primary suspect—was found deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

A significant quantity of evidence was seized during the searches, including documentation and memorabilia items allegedly tied to the fraudulent operation. Investigators are reviewing a social media post made by Lemieux prior to his death, which reportedly revealed additional details and named other potential individuals involved. The Westfield Police Department is working with experts and other agencies to authenticate the seized items and review all leads.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is assisting, and authorities emphasize that the investigation is ongoing. Police are urging anyone with information related to this case to contact Detective Don Bennett at dbennett@westfield.in.gov.
