Greencastle, IN – The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office in Indiana is alerting motorists to be vigilant due to a surge in deer activity this season.

According to a recent social media post from the Sheriff’s Office, several car versus deer accidents occurred just this morning. They emphasized the importance of driving slowly and keeping a lookout for deer, especially during early morning hours. As spring approaches, deer movements are expected to increase, raising the potential for roadway incidents.

The Sheriff’s Office humorously advised the community to “slowwww down and keep your eyes peeled,” reminding drivers of the risks with a lighthearted image of a deer, playfully hinting at the possibility of accidents. Residents are encouraged to drive cautiously and stay alert to prevent wildlife-related collisions.
